Venus fly trap- Bristle Tooth 120mm

'Bristle Tooth' is an unusual VFT as its teeth are very fine and short. Leave are short and remain on the ground. Traps have an intense red colour in strong sunlight..

Position: any protected position outdoors in as much sun as possible, indoors only in sunny positions. Also does well in terrariums and under artificial light but leaves will be smaller and mostly green. flowering will only occur in direct sunlight in spring. VFTs will do into a semi-dormancy in winter, with leaves much smaller than summer leaves.

Watering: VFTs must remain moist at all times, any drying-out will kill the plants. Pots prefer not to sit in water for extended periods.

Feeding: 25% of recommended dosage two to three times in growing season is all that is required.

Repotting: can be left to overgrow their pots, or repotted in late winter, potting mix must be of peat or sphagnum moss with none or little sand in the mix.
